Now where do I begin with this yuri/gender switch/harem anime…=_=
Senou Natsuru is your everyday, normal high school student. However he wakes up one day finding himself turning into a girl with the ability to shoot fireballs. The main protagonist learns about the truth behind his bizarre transformation, known as “Kampfer”. Kampfer are warriors chosen by the myterious “overseers’ to fight among kampfers, there are 3 type of power and each kampfer inherit one of the following: guns, swords and zaber(caster type). Kampfer are identified with a colored wristband which flashes before the transformation takes place, and all kampfer are females without exception. Natsuru finds himself unable to withdraw from this gender switching as his crush falls in love with his female transformation, and while the story progress he encounters more kampfers as well as love interests, the usual Harem path where every character introduced are attracted to him/her.
The whole anime circled around the mystery “overseer” and the conflict of Natsuru coping with his gender transformation in some worst possible scenario.(somehow he got use to it which I find strange..) The idea of the male protagonist suddenly becomes the character you would drool over is quite a magnet of the show. It is odd once you start seeing Natsuru as a female character…right? right?!
Anyways the show had every element in it, from supernatural, yuri, busty girls, action, mystery down to romance and betrayal. A massive combination of things that doesn’t make much sense but perfectly logical when performed by busty 2D girls. Combat is mediocre and plot is fairly poor, however the amount of fan service packed into this series is by far, more than your average Harem anime. From showers to the pool and battle worn uniform to cute PJ, you will find the pervert scale of this show larger than life. ( . )( . )
Overall a great eye candy choice and Kampfer provides this delicate touch on how viewer can hit on the main protagonist even if you are 100% straight…
