While this blog is mostly devoted yaoi anime and manga, I don’t read much yuri, although I wouldn’t be opposed to doing so. Yuri is considered to be wider blanket term than yaoi. But what’s interesting about yuri is it doesn’t seem to be treated the same way yaoi is (i.e. academic attention, asking why women like it, etc.) So how do I feel about yuri. I actually like some of it, you can find yuri is several josei works and I do like josei. 
While I’m not a hardcore fan it, I can appreciate it.
What I do like about it is that yuri doesn’t seem to have the obvious seme/uke dynamic, the yaoi does. If it does, it’s not as obvious. At least from the yuri works I’ve read. And I’ve never heard about yuri containing rape scenes or anything like that.
